Our dentists have been selected for their experience, with all having at least 10 years in private practice, as well as for their dedication to continuing education. Dr Farrington and Dr Lehane have completed a wide array of continuing education courses, including university tertiary post graduate programs. As a patient, it is often hard to gauge how ‘good’ your dentist actually is at their clinical work.

We have created a unique dental practice by combining the latest and best dental equipment housed within a private and heritage listed residence, which does not feel like a dental practice. The effect of this is a calming and non-confrontational environment whereby our patients can be assured they are getting the best advice and treatment without feeling like they are sitting in an interrogation room with a blinding light being flashed into their eyes.

Our garden, veranda, waiting room and surgeries have all been designed so as to enhance the effect of quality, cleanliness, and calm.

Dentistry has come light years since the ‘drill and fill’. Without adopting newer technologies, the older generation of dentists may be providing an inferior service without even knowing it.

We are proud to provide the newest, yet proven, technologies that make dentistry that much better.

· Digital intraoral and Panoramic x rays: We have installed digital x ray sensors and a panoramic x ray machine which are both safer and provide a better image than their film predecessors. This means better images, less radiation. Better images save you costly and invasive procedures, because we can detect problems ahead of time when they may require more involved treatment. Less radiation means that we can use lower dose x rays more frequently to monitor your dental health more closely without fear of side effects.

· New Dental Chairs: Our dental chairs have been selected for comfort by Dr Farrington’s pregnant wife; a harsh critic. Many of our patients have remarked how comfortable these chairs are! On a more selfish note, the chairs were also selected for their functionality for our dentists, boasting power and precision in their handpieces, and having monitors for which to display photos and x rays for both dentist and patient to view together.

· Sterilisation equipment: Our Melag Autoclave is regularly reviewed as the best on the market. This machine puts our equipment through heat and pressure with stringent precision to ensure all of our equipment comes out absolutely sterile. Each piece of equipment is bagged in a pack which also allows us to check that the sterilisation process is complete, and each bag is barcode scanned to our individual patient files. We use environmentally friendly disposable consumables where appropriate,

· Rotary endodontics: Root canal procedures are more time efficient, less painful and better since the advent of “rotary endodontics”. This is the use of a torque controlled motor, and single-use nickel titanium files to navigate often complicated root canal systems more efficiently and effectively.

· Surgical motors and Implants: Dr Farrington has invested in an NSK surgical motor, and Straumann surgical kits to be able to safely and cleanly place dental implants. Straumann Dental Implants are some of the most proven by clinical studies, and have the reputation for being consistently in the top 3 dental implant brands out of the 1000s of implant brands in the world.
